WhartonBC were engaged to support a rapidly growing mining company to define their target culture and leadership behaviours for the Sales & Marketing function, which were to be used as the blueprint for the wider organisation.

Working closely with the CMO we facilitated a series of workshops and focus groups to gain an insight into the current culture and existing behaviours, as well as the leadership capabilities needed to drive growth. We defined the future Sales & Marketing mandate and cocreated a set of behaviours with underpinning ‘I will’ statements aligned to the Breakthrough Leadership model. We also facilitated the discovery of a Sales & Marketing purpose statement, culminating in the creation of a Sales & Marketing Charter which all employees are being asked to sign up to. Alongside this workstream we worked with LACE Partners to define the Target Operating Model and Organisation Design for the function of the future. To bring the TOM to life we mapped out key process RAPIDs, defined the future capabilities and governance model. The work was conducted in a highly collaborative way which has resulted in the new Operating Model and Leadership Behaviours being received positively across the function.
