Global Leadership Capability

Dentons, the world’s largest global law firm, recently launched an exciting new go-to-market strategy centred on how it helps its clients to grow, protect, operate and finance their businesses.
As part of this, Dentons reshaped its sector approach and appointed new Global Industry and Sector Leaders. These Senior Leaders need to set strategic direction and lead their peers to success and influence across the matrix. Dentons approached WBC to support them in articulating and developing the key capabilities needed to lead effectively in this new environment.

The challenge:

• To identify the critical personal and professional leadership capabilities needed to deliver success in a new strategic, global, matrix role
• To develop and deliver a short programme of development for the first cohort of Global Industry and Sector leads designed to accelerate the development of capabilities critical to initial success
• To support the design and delivery of an initial face-to-face event for all Global Industry and Sector leaders as part of a global Dentons Partner Meeting

How WBC supported:

• Designed and delivered a collaborative and interactive Design Jam with key stakeholders to identify key capability needs, operational context and accelerate the design of a tailored programme of development
• Developed a high-level capability framework outlining key skills needed to thrive in the role
• Designed and delivered a 4-month virtual accelerated development programme to support Global Industry and Sector partners develop prioritised capabilities, focusing on:

  • Maximising Presence and Impact
  • Developing Facilitation & Listening skills to influence within a matrix

• Design and co-delivered an interactive, face-to-face day event as part of a Global Partner Meeting, designed to enable Global Industry and Sector Partners connect, establish ways of working and set themselves up for success
