Project Management, Process Mapping & Business Change

Accelerating the Organisation Design of the Future Orientation programme for VWG UK

Driven by the need to evolve to a dual running sales structure, VWG UK sought to create a new OD which supported this whilst also meeting its strategic goals for electrification, digitalisation and operating efficiencies. WBC were engaged to provide project management support and oversight, review and update ‘as-is’ processes, and define and support the change management and capability development planning.

Approach:

  • WBC conducted a review of the OD principles and design, facilitated the development of the OD blueprint and used case review workshops to achieve ‘route to green’ for Board sign off.
  • We developed and implemented OD peer review process to stress test blueprints and ensure dependencies were fully understood.
  • We provided overall programme oversight, tracking and risk reporting, including escalation for the wider board of management. We also developed and managed a robust design change control process.
  • To define the ‘to-be’ processes, we scoped and collated priority processes, engaged with and briefed the Heads of Business and nominated business experts to co-map priority processes. We then facilitated five process mapping and RACI sprints over a ten week period to identify and document required changes to the existing processes.
  • Finally, we worked closely with the People Team and Heads of Business to identify the change impacts of the design and transformation programme, along with any recommended interventions and mitigations.
